Meet State Senator Connie Leyva,

Connie Leyva is all about helping women.  Not only is she Chair of the California Legislative Women’s Caucus, but she also serves on both the California Commission on the Status of Women and Girls and the Senate Select Committee on Women and Inequality.  She is the perfect person to help us understand how women in California are faring both in the State Legislature and in the State as a whole. She is also Chair of the Senate Education Committee.  A lifelong activist who has always stood up for working people, she was the first woman President of the California Labor Federation, representing more than 2.1 million workers throughout the State.  Her district is in the Inland Empire and includes Chino, her home town, where she grew up and raised her twin daughters and now lives with her husband, Al.
