An update from Congresswoman Linda Sanchez on what's happening behind the scenes in the 118th Congress
Many of you attended our online event in 2021 with longtime WIL friend Congresswoman Linda Sanchez, where she shared her harrowing tale of being inside the Capitol during the January 6 insurrection.
We are so fortunate that the Congresswoman will be joining us again, in person this time, at our May 2 luncheon to talk about what's really going on in this 118th Congress - the good, the bad and the ugly!
Serving the 38th Congressional District since 2002, Linda is a true trailblazer:
- First Latina to serve on the powerful House Ways and Means Committee and the House Judiciary Committee
- First Latina elected to a leadership position in the U.S. Congress
- First woman IBEW member elected to Congress
- First woman to lead the congressional campaign arm of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus
- And of course Linda and her sister Loretta Sanchez, another longtime WIL friend, were the first siblings ever to serve in Congress at the same time.
Known as a representative who "kicks ass for the working class," Linda has also been on the frontlines of the fight for reproductive freedom for decades.
Please join us for lunch with this very special guest.
