WIL's good friend Betty Yee is seeking to make history in 2026 by becoming California's first female governor.

WIL is proud to have endorsed Betty when she ran for Controller and won in 2014 and again in 2018. She has spent over 35 years serving the people of California.

We welcomed her as our speaker in 2018 when she was California’s Controller and again last year, in 2023.

We know Betty to be open, bright, honest and charismatic.

Betty is a native of San Francisco, a graduate of UC Berkeley, born to immigrant parents who ran a laundry and dry-cleaning business. She worked at her parents' business when not in school, dealing with customers, translating for her parents and helping with their finances. Those early lessons helped her in running California’s finances.

Now Betty is ready for the big job. She has always been a fighter for women’s and civil rights and would be our staunch advocate as California Governor.

We know the dangers that lie ahead if anti-women forces take control of the White House and Congress. Having a strong governor who will go above and beyond to protect and improve the lives and rights of all Californians is more important than ever.
